"I promise it." He said, returning Reia's gaze.  
Next time, next time he'd be braver.  Next time, he'd be sure there weren't any left before leaving and declaring the mission a success.  Next time, he'd be better. For Reia, at the very least.  Wouldn't be right to have her thinking of him as a coward.
"Why did you leave her alone in the first place?" Asked the trainee.
"Because I wasn't brave enough." He answered.

Reia noticed Sebastian move away from them and lean against a wall near the entrance, sulking. It was strange. He seemed so happy and carefree a moment ago. "Hey..." she said to get the attention of the other two, "anyone know what's the matter with him?"

He looked the military police in the eyes, and got frustrated by his answer, he said it so easily. "Then why were you there? How did you graduate if you aren't prepared to die?" he sighed and walked away. If someone like him can graduate I can ace this no problem. was he thinking. He wrote a few other lines on his notebook. "I'm sure now on what branch I'm joining, I'm joining the Scouting Legion. I want to fight for humanity." He already had set on this branch but after the guy's answer he was sure he was going to join it for real now. He looked at Reia and replied "I don't know, and I honestly couldn't careless about him."

The trainee's rude response caught Reia off guard. What had happened in the past minute to make him dislike Sebastian? He clearly had something against the MPs, but Sebastian was a scout. Reia stared at the boy, trying to get a read on him. "Why would you say that?"

"Sebastian? He's come down with a case the romances." Ernest said, ignoring the trainee.
"Little shit probably couldn't even make the top 10." His mind said.
His mouth was thankfully silent on that, though it did began frowning grouchily.
Everyone and their brother was signing on to the Scouting Legion nowadays. The Military Police were actually experiencing a shortage. The poor blighters in the Garrison were having the same problem.

Mahiro was about to leave, until Reia asked him why he would say that. "It's because I have no use of him. I don't want to waste more time here. I only approached you guys to learn some new information, but I've gained none. You see, knowledge is power." And so closed his notebook and looked at the MP to see if he had a answer for him. But apparently not as he ignored him. "No wonder nobody joins the Military Police." and walked away.

Sebastian cracked his knuckles then looked around he wondered what else he could do here he saw a water gun stand and smiled grabbing one off the top shelf he paid for it then hid behind some bushes waiting....when someone walked by he would spray them.

"Little jackass. I hope he gets eaten." Ernest mumbled as Mahiro walked away. Though, getting eaten wasn't the only possibility. There was always the possibility that the AHSS could be mobilized and....
No. That was entirely unlikely.
"So Reia." He said, changing the subject of conversation. "Who would have thought that all those taxes I collected would be used to build this.

Reia was disgusted by the trainee's response. So, people were only a means to an end for him, were they? Maybe he would be better off with the military police. Reia sincerely hoped that he didn't join the scouts. She certainly didn't want someone like that watching her back beyond the wall. "Good riddance," she muttered as soon as he was out of earshot.

She turned her attention back to where Sebastian had been standing, but he wasn't there. She looked around for him until she saw his hair sticking up above some bushes. She looked closer and saw that he was hiding back there with a water gun. "Tch. Children," she scoffed quietly.

Ernest said something to her about taxes. "Hmm? What was that?" she asked, turning to face him.

Sebastian heard her comment then sighed and put the water gun up he was eighteen going on nineteen he was not gonna be called childish like that! he headed up to the slide and watched people go down it, it seemed kinda fun, once Orchid got here he would ask her to go down it with him.

"This. The pool." He said, gesturing out towards everything. "I'm surprised that this is what all the taxes I've collected were used for."
He paused to try in vain to smooth back his still-wet hair.
"I mean, I always thought the money was for bigger cannons, more 3-D gear. That kind of thing."

Reia wished she could say she was shocked. The truth was, the government was notorious for mismanaging money. As was evidenced by the pool, they kept coming up with new and exciting ways to waste it. "Tch." Nevermind the fact that most of the population was on the brink of starvation.

It took Ernest a moment to realize that Reia's little irritated huff of breath was a response. At least the scout agreed with him.
"Anyway, I'll be heading back to HQ. I don't want to keep you from your squad any longer." He told her.

"Oh no, you weren't keeping me from them. I walked over here so they would stop splashing me," Reia said. "This..." she gestured to all the people frolicking in the water, "isn't really my thing."

Sebastian decided to do something dumb, that was to scan where the pools were and see if he could jump into one of them from the top of the Slide seeing none that were close enough he muttered something to himself then headed back down the slide not before a kid not much younger them him pushed him down the stairs, the sequence that followed was a mix of DAMN IT, I'll, Kill, YOU!, upon landing all he had was a busted lip, some scraped Elbows and knees and maybe a minor concussion.

Reia heard a commotion coming from one of the slides and turned to see what was going on. She saw Sebastian on the ground at the bottom of the stairs, covered in scrapes. It looked like he had fallen down them.

Sebastian was screaming at a kid who stood at the top of the steps. "Ah, so the kid pushed him down. Wonder why," Reia thought. A group had gathered around the slide, wanting to see the action. Sebastian looked ready to kill the kid. Whether or not he was justified in doing so, it wouldn't reflect well on the Scouting Legion if one of its members got into a fight with a kid in public.

Reia went over to the slide to see if she could diffuse the situation. "Calm down," she instructed everyone. Then she offered a hand to Sebastian while whispering, "You especially. I understand why you're upset, but remember that you still represent the Scouts."

Sebastian grumbled, taking her hand and standing slowly, "Little bastard pushed me for no reason...Gah this is a place of joy not a place of pushing people down steps.." He muttered as he looked around, he looked up at the kid who had done a not so nice gesture with his middle finger towards him, he growled but kept his patience up to deal with this.

Reia glared up at the kid. Yes, it was just immature, childish antics, but still, she didn't like it when someone bullied her comrades. She wanted to do something to show this brat why no one messed with the Scouts.

"Hey, kid!" she called, with as much authority in her voice as she could muster. "You look look about trainee age. Are you in the military?"

"No!" he yelled back in an annoying voice.

"Well, you are now. As punishment for attacking one of our members, I, Commander Zoe Hanji, officially draft you into the Scouting Legion, effective immediately. Reia hoped Hanji wouldn't mind if she borrowed her identity for a bit. "Lance Corporal Ernest!" she called. "Please escort this lad to HQ and find a uniform for him."

"Wh-What?" the kid responded, shocked.

"Of course, you'll have to complete the training program first, but once that's over, you'll join us outside the walls," Reia said with a smirk.

The kid's expression turned to one of fear. "You...you must be joking." After Reia shot him a look that said she was, in fact, not joking, the kid started shaking. "No, please! I don't want to die! It was just a joke, a stupid joke! I'm sorry! Please don't make me go out there! I'll do anything, anything!"

Reia looked the kid dead in the eye. "Scram."

The kid fumbled down the stairs and ran away from the pool with impressive speed.

Mahiro had only left them for a few seconds and they were already gathering everyone's attention. He had already caught on what they were doing but thought it was a waste of time to reduce their level to the kids. But was impressed by her acting skills, if Mahiro didn't knew any better he'd believe that her name was Hanji if she hadn't stated that it was Reia earlier in their conversation earlier. He walked back to Reia and said "Isn't it mean to tease little kids like that?"

The trainee from earlier approached her. "Isn't it mean to tease little kids like that?" he asked.

Reia raised an eyebrow. "Oh, so now you're worried about other people?" she scoffed. What was with this guy? He didn't care about his future comrade, but he cared about some little brat that he didn't even know? Mahiro struck her as one of those people who was always looking down on others from his high horse. He seemed more and more like an MP every second.

Nick heard about a place with cold water and slides. When he was told that, he did not knew what slides were, but he really like the cold water idea. There where no large water deposits inside the walls, nor enough water to waste on bathing. He was concerned about the depth of the pool. He did not showered with water because he feared of slipping, so he wanted the pool to be big enough to float. He putted on some shorts, and a white shirt. He felt really awkward when he saw what was the situation. Girls with small panties and bras, and boys with big muscles. He felt ashamed for his belly, and he looked to the floor to not offend anyone. He wrapped his hands in his waist, trying to cover his stomach. He could distinguish a familiar face from a few meters away. It was Seb! "Oy, Seb" said Nick as he approached to talk better. "How are you doing? What happened to your lip?"

"You ask me, the little shit had it coming." Ernest said, re-joining the conversation. He had a towel draped over his shoulder, and he was noticeably not drenched any more. Ernest really didn't like the trainee with the notebook. But he didn't mind Reia all that much. Most scouts had something of a martyr complex, always talking about dying for humanity. Reia didn't seem like that kind of person.

Mahiro was kind of surprised to see the MP talk like that about a child that doesn't know any better, "They're still kids, no need to talk like that." and redirected his gaze to Reia. Who seems to misunderstand that he didn't care about humans. "I think you're misunderstanding me, if I didn't care about humans why would I join the scouts? That'd be illogical." did he say.

Reia stared at the trainee. "Do you not remember just a few minutes ago when you said you didn't care about your future comrade?" she asked. "You claim to care about humanity as a whole, but that's only part of being a Scout. When you're out there, beyond the walls, you protect your comrades, and they protect you, so you'd better care about each and every one of them," Reia instructed. "You need to understand that if you want to be one of us. Otherwise, the Survey Corps won't have you."

Nick heard the fight between Reia and this new guy. Reia was wearing a black "bikini" but for him it just looked like very thin underwear. He overheard the words "Survey Corps won't have you" He examined this new guys. He seemed being in age for being a Trainee. He was a Survey Corp, so he wanted to meet his possibly new partner. He walked to Mahiro "Oh you want to join the Survey Corps? Great! Hi, mi name is Nicholas" said as he extended his hand for a handshake. He knew he interrupted the fight between those two individuals, but it was better this way so it won't turn into something more dangerous.
