Personality: Deacon's first impression, usually to any and all who first meet him is someone that comes off as cold and possibly a hint of cruelty in his eyes. Often depicted as someone lacking emotions for the most part, Deacon does have a good sense of right and wrong though he chooses not to express these emotions out of his own choice. The world is cruel as he learned long ago but he does have the ability to smile which he has been known to do. Once his tough hide has been dealt with one would discover he is quite kind and does want to help and make a difference. His cold and cruel self is just a front to put off those who would not make a true effort to get to know the real him or would put up with it not seeing as worth their time and in the process they his time.

He has yet to partake within a battle so his personality and mind set are impossible to determine thought he has had scuffles with other people which would give an idea as to how he may react. Deacon is cunning as he is ruthless when it comes to protecting himself or defending others and has a strong sense for morality and justice.

Hair Color/Length: His hair is a deep dark red, looks almost black from most anlges but when the light hits it at the right point the redness is seen.
Eye Color: A pale brownish red.
Appearance: From a life of lifting and carrying many different types of large sacks of food, Deacon is quite stout for his size. His body has quite a nice mass of muscles developed from his earlier years of carrying around his father's supplies via his merchant business. He gets his red her and reddish eyes from his mother and the darker portions from his father. While able to sport a good smile, his resting face is unamused and just plain grumpy. Before joining the military his posture was not the best and he slouched but that changed with his new found discipline. There is a long scar going down from his shoulder blade down to the mid of his back, thin in width.

Character Information

Likes: Sparing - Goes hand in hand with training. Deacon finds it best to keep himself in shape and quick on his feet. A simple spar or even a light tussle with someone to test skills is something he is highly agreeable with at almost any time.

Personal Hygiene - A good sense of smell is well and dandy and having to live with a bunch of people crowded in the same room for most of one's child hood would help him to respect others while respecting himself to keep himself smelling decent at least.

Eating - Not one to turn his nose up to a meal, Deacon knows that food is a very limited resource in this day and age.

Training - Deacon's always lived by the phrase "You live like you train." He trains to remain alive in this God forsaken world.

Girls - While shy around a girl he likes, Deacon finds woman to be more agreeable to speak with while he more so butts heads with males more then women.

Dislikes: False Accusations - Never one to allow any fales accusations stand, Deacon cannot stomach when someone or anyone makes false claims when he himself knows them to be a crock of crap.

Pointless fights - For him, if there is to be a fight there needs to be a point to it. Needless to say if someone wants to fight him or a friend for petty reasons he will not humor the aggressor or even give them the option of what they seek. This goes for arguments as well.

Bullies - If there is one thing Deacon cannot stand it is bullies and titans are(no pun intended) the biggest bullies of them all to say the least!


Fears: Titans - Having never seen one, there is the fear of the unknown to go with.

Surviving - Not necessarily living life but with all those who have died before he in this line of work. A sort of survivors guilt fear. Should others die and he to live...would he deserve to?

Isolation - One of his greatest fears...to be alone and without the ones he cares about and to be left behind...


Motivations: Progression - To move humanity forward and get them back on track! To end the blight and terror of the Titans and bring Humanity out from their shadow.

Life outside the walls - Never has he been outside the protection of the walls, he wants to know what is out there and to one day allow humanity to leave their isolated way of life.

A peaceful life - What most people want in life, to live in peace. Living in peace will come at a price thought and he will not be able to live in true peace unless he fights for it.



Character History

Background: Deacon's upbringing had nothing really special about it, he was the grandson of a merchant who's son was a failed soldier. When he was a young teen the attack on the wall happened and he happened to be within the second layer of the walls. When Wall Maria went down his father's life was lost within the chaotic rampage of the Titans yet his body was never found...

Living with his Grandfather and his mother, Deacon was always shown to be a strong young man and hauled many heavy sacks of grain, rice and the like for his grandfather to 'help reduce cost' for his little slice of fried gold as he would put it. When he was fourteen he got into a fist fight with his mother's brother over calling his father a coward for leaving his wife and child behind. There was no basis for this claim and it royally rubbed Deacon the wrong way. Needless to say he lost that fist fight but got in several nice hits before he got knocked to the ground. The scuffle ended when Deacon grabbed his uncle and began to lift him off the ground nearly over his head but he lost his footing in the mud and hit his head on the ground along with his uncle falling on his head.

A passing by group of the scout regiment made several comments during the fight and one even called out to him when he began to lift his uncle, telling him he should think about joining the military. The idea stirred in him for a good long while until it was uncorked when he over heard his grand father's very hurtful words; Deacon was nothing more then labor to him, cheap and nearly free cost for his little merchant business. The idea was solid and then put into action, Deacon left without a word to his grandfather but left his mother a letter explaining he would give the military a hard try and he did well at first...then the training actually began and he would face it head on!

Extras: The way he got the scar was due to a farming accident on his father's end. He was a 'tough guy' type and working a plow when the mule that was pulling it got stuck up against an underground ore, this was a few years before Deacon was born. In his anger over the plow being damaged, he pulled the edge piece off and stabbed it into a tree on the edge of the farm. Over the years it grew over the blade but it stuck out just enough to hurt someone, Deacon climbed said tree and fell out of it and he slid down the trunk and it sliced him in that manner.
