Personality: Michael is generally a very quiet person. He might occassionally pop off a oneliner in a fight though, keeping a completely serious demeanour while doing it though. He is compassionate and kind, but doesn't often let his emotions show on his face. Also anyone that has known him, know him to be fiercely loyal and brave. However despite this brave and loyal nature he remains aloof from others, a loner through and through. He doesn't really have any close friends either. He tries his best in a world in which hell has been unleashed, however this doesn't deter him. Inside, he relishes the chance to fight Titans. Though he keeps a neutral appearance while fighting titans, many claim to see the fiery hatred in his eyes.

Appearance: Michael wears the standard gear, but dyed in black. He stands at 6'2 and has an athletic build. He is slender, but he has some muscle tone. Not big bulging muscles, but small and compact. He has black, shoulderlength hair with the bangs sometimes covering his left eye. His eyes are a pale-blue color, sometimes looking more blue, other times they look more pale, depending on how the light catches them. He usually keeps a neutral face showing almost no emotion. He has some small scars decorating his chest and arms from past battles.

Character Information

Likes: He likes to stay in shape and practice, pushing himself to the max. Michael also likes to spend time alone away from large crowds and other people. He also likes to read and write, keeping a small journal to more or less write down everything about his life and to remind him constantly why he keeps fighting. He likes girls as well, but doesn't know how to approach them.
Dislikes: Titans, cowards, and being locked behind the wall. Titans because they are the reason for the hell that humanity has to endure, not to mention they had killed his family. Cowards, because he believes the answer to the titan menace is to stand and fight, not to roll over and die without fighting back. Michael wants to taste the freedom from beyond the wall.
Fears: Humanity being wiped out by the titans, Any friends of his dying because of something he did or didn't do, and to never be able to see the world beyond the wall ever again. Michael also fears that humanity loses itself in the madness of the titan onslaught (Basically that humanity turns on itself, anarchy, chaos, and such)
Motivations: To destroy all titans so that he and humanity can be free to experience the world beyond the walls. To become one of the best titan slayers in the military. To prove that he isn't just some snack for the titans to devour, that he isn't going to just give up and be chomped on.

Character History

Background: To start Michael's story, we will have to start with the story of his parents. They were young cadets in training. They were exceptional cadets, however, they were also cocky and curious. The two thought they could handle any titan threat beyond the wall. They decided that they wanted to explore the world beyond this prison. They made it beyond the wall, however they barely survived.

Michael's father lost an arm to a titan in their first year. Over the years the two grew closer and the grim reality of what they chose sank in. They chose the greater over a lesser evil. They finally managed to carve out a small existence. Then, they had Michael, their son.

Strangely, it seems the titan presence had lessened during the first three years of his birth. Actually, it seemed the titans had disappeared entirely. The two parents were able to raise their son, at least for a while, in peace. Then the titans gradually started returning.

By the age of 5, Michael was already learning about titans. He seemed to be a bit more aware of what his life was. It was a life ruled by giant monsters and the protection of his parents. They taught him minor swordplay with sticks in order that he could protect himself.

A few years later the titans came in a number that overwhelmed the two parents and their son. They fought incredibly hard to defend their son.

They yelled for Michael to run, but he couldn't, he had wanted to stay and fight with his parents. He saw his mother ripped apart before his eyes and devoured. His father had pushed Michael out of the way as a Titan had tried to grab the boy and eat him. His father had dropped his sword and Michael picked it up, charging at the titan with tears and anger.

The boy was swatted away, and as unconsciousness took over, he saw a titan reaching for him.

He woke up a week later in a hospital. Evidently, Scouts were in the region and managed to save the boy before the titan could grab him. They had seen the blood and gore and had guessed that the boy's parents were dead.

They asked the boy how he and his parents had escaped the walls. He had looked at them weird and told them that he had never seen the walls before. He spoke rarely after that. He often read and tried to learn about the scouts. He heard of the tough training and began to train himself, running through streets and exercising to keep himself fit. A determined fire now burned in his eyes.

The boy was living in Shiganshina district which, Ironically, a Few years later, was attacked by the titans and overrrun.

The boy saw even more horror, but could do nothing about it. It was shortly after the incident that he signed up as a cadet. He trained hard, wanting to make it into the scouts. Michael wants to take the fight to the titans and get revenge for all those who died. The main way he sees to achieve his goal, is to make it into the scouts.

Extras: Michael has some survival skills from having lived out in the wild at a young age.
